The project offers a unique opportunity to reexamine traditional architectural usage scenarios by introducing a modular system that enables the efficient distribution of functions throughout the complex.
Building upon an existing oil refinery in Saint Petersburg, which was previously non-functional, we have revitalized and reinvigorated the site by incorporating various types of new spaces for both collaborative and
concentrated work environments.
This architectural image has been created by carefully considering the urban context, filling these spaces with functional elements that harmonize and combine to create a sense of monumentality while also maintaining
structural lightness.
The proposed architectural system is designed to be adaptable, allowing it to evolve and respond to changing trends and needs over time. Functional relationships are intentionally woven throughout the design to facilitate
flexibility and dynamism.
The use of a modular system in this project provides a cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable approach to building design that benefits both
clients and the environment.

The "Permeability Campus" presents a bold and intellectually stimulating adaptive reuse proposal, successfully transforming a non-functional oil refinery into a dynamic educational and collaborative environment. The use of a modular system introduces an impressive level of flexibility, allowing the complex to evolve over time in response to shifting needs, and the careful balance between monumentality and structural lightness gives the project a powerful yet approachable presence. The functional interweaving of collaborative and concentrated spaces demonstrates an advanced understanding of modern working and learning environments. However, while the urban intervention is conceptually strong, a more detailed exploration of the human-scale experience—such as transitional spaces, microclimatic considerations, and pedestrian circulation—would enhance the livability and daily use of the campus. Overall, this is a highly promising and visionary project that demonstrates critical thinking and creative engagement with post-industrial urban regeneration.
