Project idea

A pavilion inspired by the fluid motion of ocean waves, translating their rhythm into a sculptural architectural form. Layered curved panels mimic the rise and fall of water, creating a dynamic sense of movement and flow.

Project description

This pavilion draws inspiration from the fluid motion of ocean waves, translating their rhythm into a sculptural architectural form. Layered curved panels mimic the rise and fall of water, creating a dynamic sense of movement and flow. The gradient blue tones reflect the depth and serenity of the sea, while the open arch invites visitors to pass through as if entering a wave. The design blends nature and structure, offering a tranquil space that evokes calm, continuity, and connection to the marine landscape.

Technical information

The pavilion is constructed using a series of prefabricated curved panels, designed with parametric modeling to achieve the fluid wave-like form. Each panel is fabricated from lightweight yet durable materials such as coated steel or fiber-reinforced concrete, ensuring structural stability and smooth finishes. The elements are assembled on-site over a concealed steel framework that provides support while maintaining the visual lightness of the design. Precision connections and modular installation allow for efficient construction. Real materials include steel structural frame, GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) curved panels, carbon fiber composite panels (optional), timber/plywood substructure (optional), concrete base (foundation slab), metal fastening system (bolts & connections), exterior paint/protective coating, and gravel or stone ground finish. Dimensions approximately 6M x 10M x 6M height.
