Project idea

In architectural practice, we often find our inspiration by exploring different areas of design. The fashion industry has the power to turn any fantasy into reality and hides many points of contact with architecture. The goal of the diploma project is to achieve a symbiosis between the worlds of fashion and architecture in a new boutique hotel. An opportunity has been provided for the development of the central city parts of Sofia, in its capacity as a European capital.

Project description

Influential, innovative and progressive, Gucci discovers a whole new approach to fashion. In the 21st century, it redefines the feeling of luxury through a bold combination of elements of the past, future and present. The fashion house creates eclectic design products with a romantic twist. They represent the height of Italian craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail.

Technical information

The chosen theme represents the wide range of possibilities for the development of Gucci fashion label. The leading idea in the design is the relationship between airiness and strict functionality. It is achieved through a symbiosis of an orthogonal core volume and an amorphous shell. Through architecture, a recognizable building with clean lines and a distinct shape is created. The veil symbolizes elegance and is realized through a secondary suspended facade of load-bearing aluminum profiles and textile panels.
