Canakkale Liberation War Museum

Idea projektu

The main idea of the project was to address the explosion as it was a war museum. On each of the building facade roofs and floors, I tore the surfaces from each other with the impact of the explosion. I also created a common language by applying this to the landscaping in the middle area.

Popis projektu

In my project, which consists of 3 buildings in total; I also created accommodation areas for people coming from abroad to visit the museum. I also designed a library building for researchers who come to the museum. I united people by opening all buildings to a common area. While using a common language in my library and museum building, I reduced the explosion effect in my accommodation building and designed this place more regularly and created a contrast.

Technické informácie

In the building structure, I created aluminum and glass lighting spaces circulating between the exposed concrete building envelopes. These spaces became entrance doors, ventilation windows and lighting windows.

Canakkale Liberation War Museum

The concept of utilizing decomposed mass to create a war-related museum is a solid foundation for the project. To further enhance its impact, I suggest investing more effort in developing a captivating narrative that effectively communicates the purpose and significance of the museum. By crafting a compelling storyline, you can engage visitors and provide them with a deeper understanding of the historical context and thematic elements represented within the museum. Additionally, while maintaining the unifying triangular shapes throughout the design, it is essential to consider the importance of contrast and visual emphasis. Incorporating more organic shapes within the surrounding landscape can serve as a powerful tool to emphasize the museum's presence. By juxtaposing the angular geometry of the main building with the curvilinear forms in the landscape, you can create a harmonious yet visually dynamic composition. These organic shapes can help draw attention to the museum, ensuring that it stands out as the focal point of the entire complex. Remember, a well-balanced design approach that incorporates both unifying elements and deliberate contrasts can enhance the overall strength and visual appeal of the museum, making it a memorable and impactful experience for visitors.
