Idea projektu

The building area is located on Buyan Island, located next to the historical center of Omsk. The island is washed by the Irtysh River, and the Om River flows into the Irtysh nearby. The city was founded as a defensive fortress in 1716. The location was advantageous for the construction of the fort, of which only the gate remains... The city was a large fortification, the structure of which influenced the modern map of the city, becoming the basis for the framework of the modern road network. To date, of all the problems of the city, the problem of the impossibility of construction in the approach area to the airport, located near the historical center of Omsk, has stood out. An undeveloped and inaccessible island stands in the way of solving this problem, and there is a large area between the island and the airport that can be used irrationally. During the development of the project, a practical theoretical model of designing similar territories with

Master plan of the central part of Omsk + interuniversity campus

This ambitious project effectively leverages the strategic potential of Buyan Island, offering a transformative vision that bridges historical context with contemporary urban needs. The master plan skillfully balances geometric precision with organic, biomorphic forms, creating visually striking and engaging spaces. The metal structural system not only provides large, flexible internal spaces but also embodies transparency and openness, essential qualities for an academic campus. However, deeper exploration into how these new interventions integrate functionally and socially with the existing urban fabric and infrastructural network could strengthen the project's feasibility. Overall, this visionary proposal demonstrates thoughtful urban design that respects history, enhances connectivity, and significantly contributes to Omsk’s spatial identity and urban vitality.
