the project idea was the creation of a pavilion for contemporary arts using only two primitive shape (cube,cuboid,prism,..)
and the conceptualization, materiality of the project.
the main idea was creating a dynamic iconic building, using a cube and a cuboid.
the cuboid was used as a services and lounges area and where all the fun starts, moving from the cuboid to the cube through an on edge stairs that provide transparency and interaction between indoor and outdoor as users will be going through these stairs having a panoramal view of the city.
the glass part that provides sun and panoramal view for users between the concrete block gives the feeling of a flying cube as the glass is light weighted in comparaison with concrete.
The design concept idea you produce was good. However, I suggest you make it more iconic, not only in form but also aesthetically. Blending it to the place situated will make it more justifiable. But I think changing its color appearance will make a better impact on this iconic building. Also, this building will be a pavilion for a said place, like Egypt, it should appear the characteristic of the said country, and your proposal almost achieved it producing massive structure like pyramids. The proposal you made was very promising, however, it should function well and stood up the Egyptian modernity and character. The architecture was made possible by our creativeness and understanding of the situation and making solutions to the ideas, and this work was proudly done by you, continue to be an Architect and be greater. Continue to believe in your passion and strength. :)
